Today in Eau Claire it is cold, which has become the typical weather conditions for the past few days. Today has warmed to be significantly warmer than yesterday. We are currently in a high pressure system which can be seen in Figure 1 below, leading to the cold temperatures in the area today. However there are clouds in the sky so it appears Eau Claire is moving out of the high pressure system. The fact that there are barely any winds in Eau Claire today is allowing for warmer temperatures, and typically westward winds bring warmer temperatures that the northeast winds that have been experienced earlier this week during colder weather days. The surface winds across the United States today can be seen in Figure 2. The Eau Claire area is the warmest in all of Wisconsin as shown in Figure 3 due to the lack of winds. In Figure 1 it can be seen that a snowstorm might be moving into the Eau Claire area soon.

The Eau Claire area is currently experiencing cold weather conditions and I expect these to continue for the rest of the day. The lower pressure system coming into the area should make temperatures rise slightly. Tomorrow a few flurries of snow can be expected as the low pressure system is expected to bring some moisture into the area.
