Previous Forecast:

The remainder of yesterday did consist of cooler weather conditions.  The high of the day did reach 41°F, but temperatures remained cooler than previous days.  The cooler weather conditions have continued into this morning as well as a high pressure system is present in the Eau Claire area.  One inch of snow pack was melted yesterday even given the cooler temperatures.

Current Conditions:

Temperature: 29°F          Feels Like: 29°F
Humidity: 82%
Wind Conditions: 0 mph
Precipitation: 10%
Sky Conditions: sunny with a few scattered clouds
Visibility: 5.0 miles

Today in Eau Claire there is some high pressure over the area causing dry and mild weather.  A surface map in Figure 1 shows the high pressure over the Midwest of the United States.  As the high pressure continues to move east the Eau Claire area will be on the backside of the front allowing for winds from the southeast to come into the area.  These wind patterns will bring warmer weather starting tomorrow.  The rain, thunderstorms, and flooding in the southeastern United States that has been continuing for the past few weeks has cleared up as shown in Figure 1.  This is good news and will hopefully give these areas time to recover and repair any flood damage.

Tomorrow's Forecast:

I believe the weather conditions of the Eau Claire will continue to get warmer as the high pressure front continues to move east.  I believe temperatures on Saturday will be well into the forties.  The forecast map in Figure 2 shows that warmer temperatures are predicted for the whole Twin Cities and surrounding area.  Eau Claire is expected to reach a high of 49°F.

Daily National Holiday:

Today is National Dress in Blue Day! National Dress in Blue Day is an effort to eliminate and bring awareness to one of the top causes of cancer death, colon cancer.  This day encourages everyone to learn about the causes of colon cancer and by wearing blue raise awareness for the disease.
