Today in Eau Claire there is cold weather with clear skies. We are currently in a high pressure system seen in Figure 1. The high pressure system has brought the are clear sunny skies and cold temperatures with highs near twenty for the day. Southwest winds occurring are promising for the possibility of warmer weather moving into the area. Figure 2 shows the jet stream pattern bringing fast moving warm winds from the south to the Wisconsin and Eau Claire area.

The Eau Claire area is currently experiencing a high pressure system. Clouds are expected to move into the area tonight from the southwest. I expect the increasing cloud cover to continue into Thursday and for temperatures to become more mild.
